Auto Warranty Lawsuit involving Warranty Gold

Apparently, the auto warranty company Warranty Gold has some REAL BIG problems! Here’s a quick run down of what’s happened:

“National Warranty Insurance Risk Retention Group (“National Warranty”) was the administrator and insurer of Warranty Gold’s extended vehicle service contracts (“VSCs”). National Warranty is being liquidated in legal proceedings currently pending in the Cayman Islands. National Warranty was responsible for paying claims of Warranty Gold customers from monies deposited by Warranty Gold on behalf of its customers and potentially from other resources (including insurance proceeds). National Warranty’s insolvency has affected a reported one million consumers and numerous other extended service contract providers, such as Warranty Gold.”

Ladies and gentlemen, do not buy an auto warranty from a company located in the Cayman Islands. Don’t buy anything from someone over there, except for maybe a coconut! (I’m sure I’ll be flamed for my lack of knowledge on that island’s exports…)

Auto warranty companies like this are the ones you want to avoid. If you are comparison shopping right now, you might want to consider Warranty Gold as, well, not the best option.

I really hope that people looking to buy an auto warranty with this company will first find this page. Now, you might be thinking “Well from what I read it sounds like they are not selling warranties any more.”

Well, of course in a moral and ethical business world, they wouldn’t! But I’ve seen a lot of companies sell contracts up to the DAY of being evicted from their premises. People, some of these auto warranty companies are just plain awful!

We, the staff of AWR, try to simply inform the world about auto warranty scams and the like. Apparently, we didn’t crack open the Warranty Gold case until it was too late.

This is just a quick post to let you know that Provida Group is either owned by or owns Warranty Direct. Not that that is a bad thing – in fact many of the auto warranty companies I find own several companies that look like they compete with one another. So, if you don’t like Warranty Direct, you probably won’t like Provida Group either. Have you been scammed by Provida Group auto warranties? Here is another new comer to the scene. I see they are offering a $39 per month contract – no hidden fees….Hmmm I say, I say hmmm… The problem with a company like this is that they are in a now much tainted industry and are not offering anything new, nor addressing the concerns that many people have in purchasing an auto warranty – is this a scam? Will I actually be covered? Have you worked with Gold Key Certified warranties? Let us know what you think of this auto warranty company!
