Yep, US Fidelis the auto warranty company known for their lame commercials, is in the news again. For an awful reason. Again. I guess a BMW logo would have been a more appropriate picture, since they are suin US Fidelis, but when I found this sweet 6 series, I knew I had to use this pic.
US FIdelis just can’t keep their nose clean! All it takes is a quick search of the company name to several complaints about them. Below is an excerpt from a Biz Journal article about BMW suing US Fidelis for deceptively marketing to BMW owners. I mean really, get a life guys! US Fidelis really has to pull their name out of the slums in order to get things back on track. Ugh, with so many competitors out there offering auto warranties, if they don’t do something to change people’s idea of them, they are going to be gone soon.
BMW sued U.S. Fidelis last week alleging that the Wentzville auto warranty company used the carmaker’s name to mislead customers into thinking the two businesses were affiliated.
U.S. Fidelis sent mailers that said “BMW Notification” and told consumers that their warranty coverage had expired, the lawsuit alleges.
The lawsuit alleges trademark infringement, unfair competition and false advertising.
Many BMW owners have complained about U.S. Fidelis using the automaker’s name, said Jan Ehlen, a BMW spokesman.
U.S. Fidelis Chief Executive Chris Riley declined to comment on the litigation in a statement provided to the Business Journal on Wednesday but he did address the company’s sales practices in general.
