Abraxas auto warranty services I saw pop up today…man, the pay per click advertising must be getting CHEAP if a company like Abraxas has the money to bid on those terms. Yeah, these guys don’t show up in the natural Google search results, just in the paid “sponsored searches”. That is pretty crazy, and tells me a lot about the car warranty company right off the bat. First off, if they are of the type of auto warranty companies that you could call “take and break” – more on that later – then it makes sense that they would not want their company listed on my website. Simply – it’d tell people that the gig was up on their auto warranty scam!

If a broker is trying to get off my site – thy had better send me a cease and desist letter (which some have!), because people have a right to now what companies are taking their money, and then shutting down their auto warranty company (“Take and Break” scam is what I call these guys). It’s sad but some of these companies do just exactly that, and so in dealing with brokers we have to be careful that they are selling legitimate contracts (vehicle service contract is the legal term for car warranty in most states), and represent companies in good standing.

Easy Care Auto Warranty is a new comer to the auto warranty game, online anyway. Looks like they are boasting the following:

I personally checked out the website of this car warranty company and was very impressed by the amount of information they offered. Unlike other extended car warranty companies they have all their contracts available for your viewing right their online! I read through the most basic service plan available and to be honest it seemed very straight forward; they didn’t try to hide any information about the car service plan by using double talk or super fine print.

They offer several coverage options and allow you to pick your own repair facility. There are some stipulations in making sure that your repairs are covered, like waiting 30 days after purchase date, not covering preexisting repairs, and limiting coverage up to the first 100,000 miles. Pretty basic if you ask me!

Here is a new comer to the running – Zing Auto Coverage over at zingauto.com.

These guys are not heavily advertising at the moment, in fact Zing auto warranties doesn’t have a single ad on Google right now. I’m not sure if that is a good or bad thing, really.

When you start advertising, you say to the world “We are open for business”. In the case of Zing car warranty, or auto coverage as they put it, I found them on Google news through a press release they have. I have not been able to find any information on them from the BBB, or from my inside connections in the car warranty business. Zing – what’s the deal?

Zing is an independently owned and operated car warranty company. According to their site they offer bumper to bumper auto coverage and extended car warranties as well as, roadside assistance, towing, and rental services. They offer online claims forms as well as phone assistance where you get to talk to an actual live person! They also claim to help you with getting a car rental should you need due to your own car being in the repair shop. I wonder if this is truly as easy as they claim? If they are as good as they seem to be they should have some better advertising and get known to the public!

If you are in need of an auto warranty, you have several choices. Nationwide, which runs on the domain name CareFreeDriving.com – looks to be in good standing from the initial research that we conducted on them. Often times a car warranty company will simply be a DBA for an umbrella corporation behind them.

It is that parent corporation, or umbrella corp, that might have some motions or complaints against them. When choosing a car warranty provider, make sure to do your research and see if that auto warranty company is indeed who you think they are!

They offer four different extended auto warranty packages that cover things from engine repair to general maintenance and car repair. The website of warranties4wheels.com is, well, insane. It does not reflect the qualities that one might expect in a company website that is serious about doing business. One word – SpineCrank. OK, maybe that is 2 words. Warranties 4 wheels has a picture of a skull that has been stabbed by a sword, and then grew wings with the phrase “SkullCrank” below it. Uh, OK. I wouldn’t see something like that on a reputable auto warranty companies website like Automotive Warranites US would I? NO WAY!

An interesting part of what maybe makes this company different is how they are backed by publicly traded insurance companies. This is a good thing in our opinion, since you will always have a large company backing up your auto warranty. It can be likened to the Federal Government backing up your local bank – so if they go under, your money is still insured. According to the National Auto Guardian website, they offer 24 hour a day roadside assistance. The power train warranty is pretty standard, and might include oil changes – refer to the contract or ask the Auto Repair Warranty rep to see if this is offered.

The testimonials section of their site seems to be valid. The quote is so long though! In comparison to the quote system we offer on the right hand side of our site (3 questions – talk live for a few minutes – done!).

One aspect of their coverage that we are looking into is the road side service portion. In any extended auto warranty contract, you really have to look carefully at the road side assistance portion to see how far you can be towed; many companies limit this cost to 100 miles. There is absolutely no problem with this set up, as in this situation the main vendor would not be able to offer a better deal based on agreements made with the smaller company, such as ESP warranty. But, there is always the possibility for additional mark up by the last man in the channel so to speak. An auto warranty company is a business, looking to make the most money they can, so research is extremely important when making your decision.

There website seems to be pretty informative and helpful. I’ve been able to gather lots of information about the different extended car warranties they offer; they also have a compare chart to show what they offer compared to other car warranty companies. The site offers extended vehicle warranties for a wide selection of vehicles. There is not too much useful information available on the site; basically they will find a car warranty that will fit your needs, but I could not find anything that mentioned price ranges or different plans. In order to get information about an extended car warranty for your make and model you need to fill out a contact form.  The buyers guide is a decent resource, though the one found on this site is actually much more in depth.

US Fidelis has been in business for a number of years. The name “US Fidelis” started being used just a few years ago. Some people report the name change was due to a high profile law suit that greatly tarred the auto warranty company’s reputation. US Fidelis offers several levels of service, just like many of the other service contract companies out there. So how does the process work? US Fidelis handles it like this…

If a person files a claim with them, the process works out sort of like this. Let’s say you pay US Fidelis $120 per month for your auto warranty (just a random figure – not representative of the actual cost of the warranty) and all of a sudden you have an alternator that breaks down on you. You take the car to the shop, and give ol’ US Fidelis a call. The mechanic can of course call the company as well. If the alternator for your car is $600, according to the auto repair shop, US Fidelis is now on the hook to pay that amount. They will call around to other shops and find out what the cost for that part is at other local car repair shops.

If US Fidelis finds it for cheaper than $600 – you have two choices.

1. You can cruise over to the new auto repair shop
2. You can pay the difference

I’ve seen many examples of US Fidelis paying for customer repairs, resulting in a satisfying customer experience. I’ve also see some people really get mad at the auto warranty company for what might be called “delaying the game”, and taking a long time to pay the mechanic. Recently there has been lots of bad press about US Fidelis and it looks like nothing but trouble for them. Turns out there has been law suit after law suit as well as layoffs while. This car warranty company will probably not be around much longer.
